As you can imagine the question of when did I realize that I was sensitive to spirit comes up often. Quite honestly, I can’t say for sure. I do have many recollections around the age of 4 where I would always be hearing my name called out or walking into areas and getting cold. I come from a very Irish background and ghost stories were a daily staple. I was the kid who had to sleep with the covers pulled up over my head at night for fear of the “boogie man”. Later in my teen years I began to tell friends about future events or things that might be personal to them. They would be astonished and frankly so was I! There was no one to give me guidance or someone to talk to about this. Even though several family members were also sensitive we didn’t talk about it. In those days people would coin you as a crazy person, not like the openness of today. When I graduated from high school I applied to colleges out in California. Great, this would be my chance to leave this haunted house... so I thought. The reality was it just wasn’t the house filled with spirit it was my ability to feel (clairsentience), hear (clairaudience) and see (clairvoyance).
I have been very fortunate in my life to have had the opportunities and mentors who helped me along the way. There is truth in, “There are no accidents”. I was a successful and honored high school teacher for over 35 years winning many awards during that time. The day to day job of being an instructor gave me the expertise to teach metaphysical studies in a way that most people can easily comprehend. It also gave me the confidence to do my public speaking with ease and humor. I trained and studied for many years with various instructors trying to understand this whole psychic/mediumship/energy thing. It wasn’t until I met my mentor, Robert Brown who gave me the tools and knowledge to make sense of it all. I studied with him for many years at the Learning Light Foundation in Anaheim, California. Following in the footsteps of my mentor, I became a teacher at the foundation for many years teaching : psychic development and mediumship classes as well as circle development. Several of my students have gone on to become very successful in this field. My greatest joy as a teacher is to see when the light bulb comes on in that....WOW. ...moment. To quote Albert Einstein, “The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious”. To quote Ellen, “Always trust your gut feeling, and be that scientific child once again who wants to explore the how’s and why’s of life”. Enjoy your spiritual journey and my best to you......Ellen Marron
